Oversleep vs Undersleep

Have you ever heard someone saying that it took him/her few hours in the night to get into sleep? And you might have also heard few saying they could simply get into sleep in minutes.  Have you ever wondered what could be the reason behind this phenomenon? Well! I thought about it and postulated some interesting points.  Let's discuss few minutes about this and then will get into the details. There are several ways people opt to get sleep. Few do some activity and slowly fall asleep.   Few lie in the bed and starts thinking about something and slowly fall asleep.  Few just lie on the bed and get into sleep in few minutes.  Few others do some activity and fell asleep for some time and again do the activity then fall asleep and repeat it for sometimes and finally fall asleep.  If you observe all the kinds, you can find two things. 1. You either consciously do some activity which will prevent you to go sleep. 2. You don't do anything and lie...

What is money?

Money runs the world. This is a proven fact and no one denies that. But as a person why do you need money? Any person needs money to fulfill his requirements. Now, what are your requirements? People do have requirements all the time be it food, entertainment, house, trip, etc. The more money you have the better you do all these things. You can live in a single room or a villa. It entirely depends on you. The point I want to make is how many are actually want to live in a villa? Or want to own a luxury car? And there are endless things you can do with your money. Bay do we really know what it is like to live in a villa? Or own a luxury car? I think unless you experience these you don't know what it is like to be having them. And how many are actually setting a goal before earning money? Most of the time we want money first and then we think about how to spend it. The problem here is you just don't know how much to earn. You earn x units but you don't kno...

A better version for Baahubali 2?

1. Bahubali goes to kuntala kingdom as we have seen in the movie.  Everything goes in line with the movie until the point where Devasena saw Bahubali attacking intruders using 3 arrows at a time.  She already fell in love with Bahubali and it is being shown in Lord Krishna song.  They both killed all intruders who were there. Meanwhile, all the intruders were taken being killed outside by Kuntala soldiers.  Just after the fight, we will have a nice romantic song where Devasena surrenders herself to Bahubali. (Which is similar to that of Shivudu and Avantika's romantic song).  Later, Devasena comes to know that he is indeed the Price of Mahishmathi.  Then they receive a message from Shivagami that Bahubali must bring Princess of Kuntala as a prisoner.  Devasena's parents don't agree and Bahubali marries Devasena and promises her that he would protect her and her pride and dignity till his last breath.  Hamsa song as pictured in the mov...

Conscious vs subconscious

Your conscious mind thinks, analyzes, makes rational decisions. The subconscious mind doesn't have the ability to think or analyze but can make ds irrationally. They normally don't work dependently. Ex: If you see a food item your subconscious says go and eat it. Your conscious mind thinks about the pros and cons and makes a decision. If you decide to eat there is no problem Otherwise your subconscious fulfills its desire in another way, like dreaming. Here when your conscious mind making a decision it doesn't consider the subconscious mind's desire. The subconscious mind couldn't force the conscious mind to make a decision in favor of it. People, most of the times use their subconscious mind. And its decisions suck most of the time. Our conscious mind might be able to make extremely intelligent decisions but it can't be used all the time. It is prone to several distractions. Your conscious mind considers emotions, feelings, empathy, etc. Whereas your...

Why do we need to encourage Entrepreneurship?

Whenever some person tells students/youngsters to become an entrepreneur, you normally get these type of reactions. 1. Yes, I want to become an entrepreneur. But many have no idea why should one become an entrepreneur. 2. Is entrepreneurship an ultimate success for any young person? 3. If all are trying to become entrepreneurs who will work for them? Let's first talk about 2Q: Definitely No, this is not an ultimate success for any student or scholar. But I think this is the ultimate success for society.  You are asked to become an entrepreneur not for yourself but for society. You create something where people work and earn money. That's what any society wants.  Any developing country needs a lot of new companies. Which will not simply improve the economy but will multiply the GDP several times. When you start a company you are not only giving 1st person jobs but providing secondary, tertiary.... jobs too. I think you can understand this. So, w...

IPL 2'17 Auction(Pre analysis)

Writing a review after on something which was already completed is quite boring and it might sometimes look like taking somebody's stance. So just want to predict Teams's buyings at 2'17 Auction. All teams must have plan 1, 2, 3 and so on. So, let's predict each team's best possible plans and will compare these with their actual buying after the auction. I am not going to elaborate already known things like current players, purse money etc stuff. I will be straight forware here.  MI: They need to go for an overseas opener as Lendl Simmons is injury prone and considering form factor.  They have excess of overseas fast bowlers. They need one Overseas batting all rounder as Pollard's form is not consistent.  [Hales/Roy/Guptil (You think I am gonna give these many options! Hell no!)] 1. Hales:  Except Rohit MI never had explosive opener even if they had they were not realible, So one of openers should be able to play 15 overs.  So, I pick ...

Car exterior accessories

Image
Bumper: To reduce the impact when minor collisons occur. It absorbs the impact and reduce damage to subjective car and receiving object too. Fender: Just above the tyre of a car you will see this. Hud or bonnet: It covers the front top of car where engine sits. Spoiler: It's a divice whose intended function is to spoil the unwanted air flow and to reshape the airflows around the car. Operation: Most of the cars have steep angle from roof of the vehicle to the edge of the end of car which may cause air flow seperation. Air flow seperation creates turbulance and low pressure region which inreases drag and instability. When you add spoiler to car, it makes car slightly long and reduces angle from roof to the spoiler, which helps to delay air flow seperaion. High pressure in front of the spoiler gives downward force to the car and reduces up lift. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spoiler_(car) Spoiler vs Wing CFD flow analysis Wing or airfoil: It increases the drag b...

Does passion exists? Yes it does, and will find out how.

If you wanna succeed you need to follow your passion. That's what most of the times we hear. But how does one find his passion in the first place? I think I never heard anyone/anything talking about the latter topic. (For every person the following are imp if the person really wanna live like a real person) I saw a video telling viewers that don't follow passion but follow the thing you are good at. It seems extremely thoughtful to me. One of the examples he mentioned was: Ex: Let's say you are so passionate about singing but you failed miserably on your first stage performance and think you are a failure. What that video saying instead of thinking of passion just find out where you are good and go on with it. The video says there is nothing like passion and convinces myself that passion doesn't exist(Until I find out one of mine). Points to be taken: This video tells us that you need to know where you are good at even though you are not passionate(your persp...

2008 Financial crisis

Short answer: Commercial banks lent housing loans to people who then pay monthly instalments, then these commercial banks sold mortgages to investment bankers who had lots of money with them. Now they have mortgages with them and receiving monthly instalments from people who took loans. They now did some finance stuff and created "collateralized debt obligation(CDO)" which were like bonds with a fancy name. They cut it into 3 pieces with low risk, medium risk, high-risk bonds. Credit rating companies gave thumbs up and gave AAA, BBB and no rating respectively to 3 types of bonds. These investment banks fill the boxes(bonds) with the money they get from monthly instalments. Now they sold these CDO's to private investors who thought these bonds are less risky and had good credit ratings too. Till now everything is fine!! BTW these investors bought some outsider bonds because that time US federal bank interest rate was just 1%.  People were willing to take house loans b...

Comparison of Hyd and Bangalore ORR's

Just a comparion between Hyd and Bangalore ring roads by considering their fulfilment of purposes. Hyd                                                       It's range approximately from the center of city is 20 - 40 km.   City didn't spread enough to touch ORR yet at almost all the places. West side may touch first, next south west and north west. East, South, North parts of the city are long way to go to touch ORR.  Pros: Whole city is inside the ORR and there is plenty of room for city to develop inside the ORR. It's very good for future of the city.  Since it is so far from the city you need not to cross it so often which reduces the traffic at intersections points.  City will have enough space inside the city to build new roads.  You can travel from eastern most point to western most point which is around 60...

Jai Jallikattu!

Have been thinking of writing on this issue, finally here is my take on it. Jallilattu: A traditional Tamil bull taming sport where several bulls are made to run and people have to stop them by catching their humps. Which is usually played in January month. Problem: Supreme court banned this sport because animals suffer here which is a violation of law. Tamil's view: They say it was traditional and has thousands of years history. They want to preserve their culture so they gathered in marina beach and started protesting against the ban on jallikattu. My take: Any public or private mass event must have a purpose and it must benefit all parties involving in it. What is the purpose of bull taming or in my away torturing bulls? They don't because they think it's their culture so they have to follow it no matter what happens. Is it at least benefitting both parties? Bulls: They are tortured and frightened by people. When people eat beef whole nation fought against...

PPP

PPPs are the rates of currency conversion that equalize the purchasing power of different currencies by eliminating the differences in price levels between countries.  In their simplest form, PPPs are simply price relatives that show the ratio of the prices in national currencies of the same good or service in different countries. All countries’ currencies don’t have the same purchasing power. When you use exchange rate for conversion of currencies you don’t consider their purchasing power. For example: if this (1 USD = 68 INR) conversion says 1 $ product in US needs 68 Indian rupees. In reality, it may or may not be true and it depends on the product as well. There are several measures to calculate PPPs between countries. One such is Big mac index, popularized by The economist. Big mac index: It compares the price of McDonald’s Big Mac burger across several countries. The Big Mac Index is presumably useful because although it is based on a single consumer product that...

Commercial bank vs NBFC vs Investment bank

Commercial bank: They take deposits from people and lend money for industries and people. They are strictly regulated and controlled by RBI. NBFC: (Non banking financial company): It basically doesn't involve in people's money at all and doesn't lend money to risky businesses like Agriculture, industrial antivity and construction or sale of non movable properties. It involves in business of loans and advances, acquisition of shares, stock, bonds hire-purchase, insurance business or chit business. Investment bank: An  investment bank  is typically a private company that provides various financial-related and other services to individuals, corporations, and governments such as raising  financial capital  by  underwriting  or acting as the client's  agent  in the  issuance  of  securities . An investment bank may also assist companies involved in  mergers and acquisitions  (M&A) and provide ancillary se...
