Hud or bonnet: It covers the front top of car where engine sits. Spoiler: It's a divice whose intended function is to spoil the unwanted air flow and to reshape the airflows around the car. Operation: Most of the cars have steep angle from roof of the vehicle to the edge of the end of car which may cause air flow seperation. Air flow seperation creates turbulance and low pressure region which inreases drag and instability. When you add spoiler to car, it makes car slightly long and reduces angle from roof to the spoiler, which helps to delay air flow seperaion.
