Jai Jallikattu!

Have been thinking of writing on this issue, finally here is my take on it. Jallilattu: A traditional Tamil bull taming sport where several bulls are made to run and people have to stop them by catching their humps. Which is usually played in January month. Problem: Supreme court banned this sport because animals suffer here which is a violation of law. Tamil's view: They say it was traditional and has thousands of years history. They want to preserve their culture so they gathered in marina beach and started protesting against the ban on jallikattu. My take: Any public or private mass event must have a purpose and it must benefit all parties involving in it. What is the purpose of bull taming or in my away torturing bulls? They don't because they think it's their culture so they have to follow it no matter what happens. Is it at least benefitting both parties? Bulls: They are tortured and frightened by people.
