IPL-9 team report cards(Perspective on fulfilling purpose of IPL)
Considering the following 3 points this report card has been made.
- Youngsters/uncapped players: The purpose of IPL is to provide a platform for youngsters to perform at international level. Besides, they would share dressing room with contemporary cricket masters, which would not only help players but also Indian cricket.
- Indian players/Indian cricket: IPL is not just for youngsters. It gave several Indian players to get some form and practice. We have seen several comeback players who performed well in IPL and knocked the doors of Indian team.
- Foreign players: Even foreign players are benefiting from IPL. If overseas players perform well in IPL then only they other boards recognize the importance of IPL and will survive globally.
Did teams give enough chances to players?
Did players perform well?
Did they used their resources smartly?

Team 1 SRH:
IPL winners!! No doubt SRH played amazing cricket. Coming to the point, did they fulfill the purpose? Perhaps, yes.
1. SRH tried their best but didn't get the expected results. Hooda played all matches but scored around 120+. Sran is the find of the team. Karn sharma is again a failure. Bipul became overnight star after last 3 matches. SRH had mixed feelings here. (5/10)
2. Dhawan back to form!(I think so). Nehra ji continued his sublime 2nd innings. Naman had few opportunities and was patchy. Bhuvi was exceptional. Yuvi was not bad. Overall SRH did pretty well in this area. (8/10)
3. Warner _/\_ hatsoff! We don't want warner to face our bowlers in the coming 12 months. Fizz was excellent. Moises was ok. Kane had very few chances and was not at his best. Morgan was a failure. Again, Ben cutting became an overnight star. I don't want to talk about Boult(Just a sorry for him). (8.5/10) Largely because of Warner and Fizz.

Team 2 RCB:
Runner ups for the 3rd time. Most impact team in IPL.
1. Chahal was clinical. Sarfraj, baby and Rasool did their best. Jadhav and Mandeep had no opportunities. Harshal patel disappointed.(6/10).
2. Virat.. Need I say more? KL Rahul used IPL at his best. Binny lacked consistency. Arvind was not bad. Aaron disappointed once again.(9/10)
3. Gayle disappointed in the first half. ABD was as usual. Head did his part. Jordan was asked to fill Stark shoes which was impossible, still he did his part. Watson failed in batting but clicked in bowling. Milne and Wiese had less chances. Kane was uneven.(7.5/10)

Group stage toppers!
1. Except Kaushik they haven't used any player well. Tambe and Dwivedi were underplayed. No other have got even 4-5 matches to prove themselves.(4/10)
2. Raina was not as usual. DK once again disappointed. Jadeja was a surprise failure. PK was okay and Dhawal was very good. They heavily relied on overseas players so Indians had very less opportunities to perform. (6.5/10)
3. Finch was dependable, Dr. Smith was blistering in batting handy in bowling. McCullum occasionally gave some sparking starts. Bravo was not upto the mark. Faulkner was not given enough chances. Dale steyn was wasted. (7/10) Their squad was too rigid.

4th placed team!
1. Kuldeep was the find in the team. SK Yadav was underutilized. Sathish luckily played some games. (5/10).
2. Gambhir and Manish were okay and did their parts. Expected more from Uthappa. Yusuf was back to form. Chawla was okay. Umesh had been wasted.(8/10)
3. Dre Russ became their frontline player. Narine managed to perform well. Morkel played his part. Shakib, Munro and Lynn haven't played enough games so can't expect more form them. Holder was asked to replace Russell which is quite difficult for him. Hogg did his part. (7.5/10)
4th placed team!

1. Krunal was find of the season. Nitish played a match winning innings. Suchit and Shreyas were rarely used. Nathu Singh was bought for 3.2cr and surely wasted him.(5.5/10) Only because of Krunal
2. Rohith was a hit. Except one innings Parthiv had disastrous season. Hyped Hardik had a forgettable season. Rayudu did his job. bhajji was not up to the mark. Vinay was failed or rather poorly used him. Bumrah was patchy but done his job. (7/10)
3. Except McClenaghan no one was consistent. Pollard and Buttler were overtrusted. Korey sadly hadn't played at all. Guptill played only a couple of matches. Southee did his part.(6.5/10) Too rigid.
5th placed!

1. Iyer, Nair, Samson and Pant all were given plenty of opportunities. Nair was a hit. Samson and Pant were inconsistent. Iyer was awful throughout the season. Jayant played his part. Nadeem was wasted. Agarwal was not needed in the team. Negi was not fit in the team he was neither a finisher nor a accumulator nor a good bowler. He is just a clone of Jadeja but without experience.(6/10)DD trusted youngsters.
2. Zaheer was excellent with ball. Amit mishra was decisive at some times. I think Shami was not a failure rather was not utilized well.Only 3 capped players :O (7/10)
3. No one was mediocre and no one was exceptional all the time. De Kock, Duminy and Billings were not bad they played their parts. Morris became a reliable all-rounder. Brathwaite had done his job. NCN had very less opportunities. Sandhu hadn't played at all. Tahir did what he was asked for.(8.5/10)

1. Bhatia was good. Chahar did his job. M Ashwin was definitely a hit and may feature for India soon. Aparajith? Who is this? (6/10)
2. Rahane was as usually most consistent in the team. Dinda and Tiwary were surprise hits. Ankit Sharma occasionally played. Irfan wouldn't fit in the final eleven both him and Bhatia couldn't play along. Ishant and RP were not given enough chances, even if they got they wouldn't do anything better. R Ashwin was surely underplayed. He is our best bowler for heaven's sake. Why didn't I Pandey didn't play man? I don't know? This is the worst team selection. What did they want to do with 5 Indian pace bowlers(Ishant, RP, Irfan, Ishwar and Dinda)? When you knew you were gonna play 2 spinners, why did you need 5 Indian pacers in your squad? Pathetic selection!! (5/10)For Rahane and Sir Dinda.
3. four overseas players injured. How miserable it was?? Those 4 were not bad. Smith even scored a century. Faf scored few fifties. Pietersen could have converted his starts if he had played full season. Mitch Marsh did a fine job. Zampa was excellent. Perera was asked more than what he was capable to do. Albie was failed. You can't expect anything from Handscomb or Boland. Bailey and Khawaja were mentally not prepared I presumed.(7.5/10)

Ohh, I forgot Dhoni!! He couldn't have done anything better in those scenarios. He did his best as a Captain. He could have done better with the bat but when your sucks captains form also sucks.

1. Vohra disappointed us. Gurkeerat and Anureet Singh were wasted. Cariappa wasted his chances. Naik and Swapnali Singh?? Who are they? Shardul Thakur was bought for 2cr and warming in the bench. He mocked team selection and was released to play in Ranji matches. Now, he was selected for Ind-WI Test series. Strange?? (3.5/10)
2. Vijay was excellent despite many losses. Rishi Dhawan was wasted. Axar Patel was best left are off spinner in the season. Saha couldn't live up to expectations. Mohith and Sandeep were excellent with ball can't ask them anything more.(7.5/10)
3. Miller and Maxwell were terrible throughout the season. M Johnson had lost his venom. Shaun Marsh was not confident. Behardien was wasted. Stoinis did more than expected. Kyle Abbott was patchy. Amla shut critics mouths.(5.5/10)
